THE LEAD: PRESIDENT UNLEASHES ANTI-F.B.I. TWEETSTORM
President Trump, as is becoming his habit, sent a series of frenzied early morning tweets, this time saying the FBI’s reputation was “in tatters” and was at the “worst in history” on Sunday morning. He also accused the nation’s top law enforcement agency of failing to properly investigate his opponent in the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton.
“Ex-FBI director James Comey and former attorney general Sally Yates, who were both fired by Mr Trump, led criticism” of the tweets, according to a report by the BBC. “Republican senator Lindsey Graham said Trump’s comments and tweets on ongoing investigations were at his ‘own peril.’”

WHO YOU GOT: CLEMSON, OKLAHOMA, GEORGIA OR ALABAMA?
Clemson looked dominant this weekend, smashing Miami in the ACC Championship game to secure the top seed in the four-team College Football Playoff. It was widely believed that Oklahoma and Georgia would join them, but the fourth slot was very much open.
Despite Ohio State’s victory over Wisconsin in the Big 10 Championship, the College Football Playoff Committee chose Alabama, who lost only once this year, over the Buckeyes, who have two losses.
The choice sets up a Clemson-Alabama showdown in the Sugar Bowl and a Oklahoma-Georgia matchup in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day. The winners will meet on January 8 in Atlanta.

CVS MAKES PURCHASE THAT COULD ALTER AMERICA’S HEALTH CARE LANDSCAPE
CVS is buying the health insurance company Aetna the companies announced Sunday.
CNN reports, “If approved, the $69 billion acquisition — $77 billion including debt — would drastically remap the health care industry. CVS Health (CVS) is a massive drugstore chain and prescription drug insurer, while Aetna (AET) is one of the nation’s largest health insurers.”
If things go according to plan, this would be the largest health insurance deal in history, but they must be approved by antitrust regulators who have been skeptical of similar mergers in the past.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST: DEALING WITH END-OF-SEMESTER STRESS
Uloop’s Catherine Frederick knows it’s December, but also that “before you can leave and relax, you need to go through at least two weeks of hell. One week of studying and another of the exams themselves. It bleeds the life out of the holidays. The reds and greens are replaced by varying shades of grey. Life outside of your textbooks ceases to exist.”
She’s got a plan to make the next two weeks much easier on you, though, and you need to read it.
Today’s Pro Tip comes from Patrick O’ Brien’s book Making College Count. Regarding finals, O’Brien writes that “Think about the experience as finals WEEKS. It’s not finals week. It’s a two-week process that starts the Monday before your first test. Really.”
That Monday is probably today!
